Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality in women globally. Despite advances in understanding the lesions, critical gaps remained unidentified. Most existing reports are merely observational and limit causal inferences. Therefore, studies assessing cervical pathology, including limited data on genotype-specific HPV responses to treatments, screening adherence, and the efficacy of novel immunotherapeutic outcomes, are needed. Inspired by the increased global optimism about the possibility of eliminating cervical cancer, the World Health Organization has recently launched a global initiative to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer as a public health problem, its goal is to increase HPV vaccination coverage services and to ensure mid-adult women screening services and accessibility to appropriate treatment and care to those who need treatment Prospective, multicenter studies are crucial to refining clinical guidelines.
